This week I am visiting my folks in the city of Pune in India. My father, who’s savoring a much needed self imposed sabbatical, enjoys mornings tending to his rooftop garden. He planted the seeds and saplings over a decade ago and has been religiously nurturing them ever since.
Apart from absolutely colorful and fragrant flowers he also has a few vegetables and fruits that he tends to passionately. The rooftop today is flush with greens, yellows, reds and purples. Certainly a sight that brightens up anyone’s day.
Undoubtedly the garden my father has grown over the years is his pride and joy (apart from his two successful sons of course!). And seeing the fruits of his labour make all of us equally proud as well.
I shot this particular blossom because of the striking color and the almost regal position it seems to have taken with an upward glance to the heavens. The flower seems as proud as my father!
Since I am traveling sans my trusty Fujifilm my weapon of choice was the trusty hand phone, the fantastic iPhone 6Plus. A little post processing with Lightroom Mobile(for hues, saturation and luminance) and Moldiv(for watermarking) and voilà.
Till the next image, Ciao!
