For this week’s theme I had a concept brewing (no pun intended) in my head for a while. I wanted to shoot a cup of hot coffee (Steam et al) sitting next to a French press and some coffee beans. After all what says awake better than a fresh hot cuppa joe!

I did set out to arrange the items for the shoot and began taking pictures. Alas I was unable to realize my vision even after multiple attempts and rearrangements.

So I decided to go lo-tech and used the iPhone to shoot only one of the three items. And thus I ended up with the shot you see here. I used one of the Instagram filters to enhance the image for a more warm and soft feel.
